Hi there and welcome!
If you’re here you probably heard Kat Fulton + I chatting about how AMAZING music therapists are + what an enormous skill set they possess!
A skill set that is transferable, by the way…to many other ways of working with people + of creating income both online and off.
MT’s Rock!
In case you’ve never sat down + listed your skills in a way that gives you freedom to expand the way you create income…let me start that list for you!
In my opinion (+ several years experience employing MT’s) I have noticed that MT’s:
- know how to research
- have a deep respect for people
- have a deep desire to make a positive difference in their communities
- know how to plan for group settings (the only other group outside of trained school teachers that I’ve really seen do this well)
- are willing to help + support others
- have honed their ability to focus intensely for extended periods of time (comes from studying music + the ability to play more than one instrument)
- know how to look people in the eye
- know how to recognize when that eye contact is creating stress
- are able to modulate their voices (they can take center stage in group settings, business settings, meetings and collaborative groups when they own this)
- are able to empathize with people of all ages
- are great listeners
- have an ability to think + plan linearly
- some (unfortunately not all) have an ability to think creatively + plan creatively
- often do not know how many gifts they bring to a community program
- know how to use music to create change in emotional, physical and mental states
All these skills are transferable to private coaching + group coaching.
Coaching Information
If you are interested in coaching certification with professional master coach trainers (but not interested in the investment of dollar$ and time some certification programs call for) then this course may be of interest to you.
I did research when I was searching for a certification program for myself. If you are already a highly educated therapist, this course will give you certification at a low price point with access to continuing education. The woman I did my training with was amazing! She was a psychotherapist with decades of therapeutic experience and super realistic about coaching and the skill set that brings success.
Personally, I would never have considered coaching as an option for myself except that I gave myself the gift of taking off my professional blinders for once.
I allowed myself to seriously take time to commune with my creative muse (I call it God) and let feelings + images + ideas emerge.
Don’t get STUCK in your story!
If you are someone who (like I was) carried a limiting belief about what’s possible with your skill set (and thereby missing really fulfilling opportunities to work with people who can benefit from your knowledge and expertise) please reach out!
I am very happy to have conversations with anyone who just needs a sounding board (it’s free). I know what it’s like to feel like your passion can’t bring you the life you imagined.
